Hello all. For my first ever post I thought that it was important that I share with you my top 5 everyday tools that I use for crafting that I just could not do without. We all have them, a certain glue or pair of scissors that we think are the bee's knee's, well, here are mine:
1. Fiskars Guillotine, 12 Inch Cut.

The Fiskars company has never let me down. Easy to use, easy to change blade and find spares online or in shops, but most importantly the 12 inch cut is great for all those larger projects that use the 12" x 12" papers without any extra guillotine taking up travel space. If I need more measures then it has a fold out extending ruler that tucks away into the base of the guillotine waiting should I ever need it. The cut line itself is has a physical thin wire down between the plastic guide so you can actually see where you're going to cut before you make the cut. The wire has never become weak or faltered and I have every confidence with my crafts because of this guillotine.

2. Cosmic Shimmer, Acrylic Glue 125ml.
There are plenty of Glue's on the market and many of these are okay for odd projects, but when I came across Cosmic Shimmers own, I used it for almost everything and every project. It's a strong glue, but it allows you five seconds to make quick adjustments to a wonky card layer or a wonky paper on an MDF project. It does the same for embellishments and all those individual letters for personalised cards. A saving grace moment followed by certain glueing strength, what more could you ask for? 3. Sizzix Big Shot, Foldaway.
Before I mention the Foldaway Cutting Machine, there's a very special shout out needed... The Cuttlebug Cutting Machine. This was the first Die Cutting Machine that I used when I started out. It belonged to my Mum and she was the one who introduced me to the crafting world. These little green Machines are so reliable and transportable. It had been our crafting companion for over 10 years until I was gifted my very own Cutting Machine, the Sizzix Big Shot Foldaway. It is a modern echo of the Cuttlebug; reliable, small and transportable thanks to its cute and folding doors. (It cuts and embosses from every company I have come across so far and I haven't needed for a larger machine yet. However if your adamant for a larger Machine I can still recommend Sizzix Big Shot Plus for the next size up.) I have used many of Sizzix's own Dies before and had never experienced any problems so when I saw my own Foldaway Machine I knew we were going to have a long crafting journey together.

4. XCut Tempered Glass Plate, 13" x 13". I almost missed this one altogether and that's not me being rude to XCut, it's actually the world's biggest compliment. This Glass Plate tis the one that I use for every Glue Gun project, or ink experiment and flat surface for stamping. It is always part of every project; either as a clean surface whilst I'm lost in piecing my card layers together or even as a key tool holing my paints, ink or any kind of mixed media to create different textures or techniques. It has all the useful line guides and card sizes written 'in' the plate (so it doesn't get worn off with wear and tear) and is easy to clean. Being Glass, it repels any cutting knife and doesn't leave a mark behind. And I must state that I thoroughly enjoy it being 13" x 13", as it allows me the space to work with my 12" x 12" papers easily.
A shout out to the Tempered Glass Media Mat from Tim Holtz. I love the versatility this mat has due to its different surfaces it has for the use of different media. He has produced a travel size as well as a larger size media mat. I mostly save this mat for those extremely experimental times or when I see a new technique using the resist mat it has included.

5. Fiskars, Scissors (Moomin Edition, Red).I personally like using larger scissors and only use smaller scissors on the odd occasion, but either way Fiskars has provided a range of Scissors over the years, so there are plenty to choose from. However, I was gifted a very special pair of Large red Scissors with Moomin Print. Being a fan of the Moomins and of Fiskars, it was a beautiful gift and us crafters are always going to be in need of decent pair. A small added note, the texture of the handles are so comfortable and feel so sturdy. I would describe it as a matte with a light texture and it feels very special. And yes, my other Scissors are also Fiskars.
